Every year since Absolutely Olivia started, I’ve done a Spring Lookbook. If you’ve read my most recent life update post, you know that I’m searching for new ways of creative motivation. I found myself unexcited to shoot your typical old spring looks, so I decided to add a funky twist to the styling to make it fun for myself and you! This spring lookbook has seven outfits, each corresponding to a color in the rainbow, from red to purple.
There’s a style for every occasion, so I hope this post gives you the inspiration you need for your spring 2019 wardrobe. Keep scrolling and reading to check it all out 😉
Everyone knows April showers bring May flowers, so a raincoat is a mus tin any spring lookbook. Red patent leather has been a background trend for awhile, so this spring bring it to the forefront! Red is a compliment-inducing color as it looks good on anyone, so your spring wardrobe (and ego) can benefit from adding this color to your daily mix.
A playful outfit is forever made better with pops of orange, or in this case, when it’s completely orange! The best way to rock all orange is to break it up with smaller patterns in different colors like the romper pictured below. This prevents you from being a walking traffic cone and adds flavor to your orange look.
There’s something about yellow that just makes people smile and capitalizing on that with an outfit is one of the best ways to make a great impression. Layering yellow on yellow is a great option as it shows your style and keeps you warmer than the typical yellow sundress.
When I think of a go-to brunch outfit, this look checks off all the boxes. Green isn’t typically a color I would wear, but it’s an elegant color to pair with white denim and funky accessories like hair scarves. Add a little green to your closet this spring, for unique brunch looks and the like!
For blue, a work wear look is always exciting. It’s a splash of color in any work space, but not so in-your-face that it’s out of place. Different shades of blue work well together, so wearing a blue top and blue bottom is not out of the question!
The final color was purple, which is absolute perfection for a day out in the sun. Lighter shades like lilac and lavender are great for spring outfits and when paired with their sister color purple, an unstoppable feminine power look is created. To add some edge, throw on bold silver accessories.
That’s all for my 2019 Spring Lookbook! I hope you enjoyed the twist I put on my typical lookbook and that you’ve gained inspiration for your own spring style. Let me know in the comments which look was your favorite and feel free to leave any questions or blog post ideas while you’re down there. Thanks so much for reading!
