7 ~WEARABLE~ Spring 2019 Trends

Although it’s just starting to snow in some places, the heat of spring is already touching down where I live. With that being said, I have spring fashion fever and I am ready to pull out all the winter coats from my closet to replace them with flouncy skirts and bombers. Also, stores are feeling the spring fever as well and they are starting to roll out the new, warmer weather styles. Here at Absolutely Olivia, we love being ahead of the game, so knowing the Spring 2019 Trends is a must!

After perusing a multitude of websites and fashion week photos, I was able to narrow down all the Spring Trends I saw to a humble seven. I made sure to choose the most attainable and wearable trends that can easily be found at any store near you. As you’re going through this post, marvel at the runway looks, but also ask yourself: How can I transform these high fashion fits into trendy, everyday wear? Let’s get into it!

Last season fringe was all-the-rage, but this season it’s all about feathers. Whether they’re layered in vibrant oranges on a tank or cascading down a sophisticated dress, feathers are more swank and stylish than ever before.

From street wear to runway fashions, the biker short is taking the world by storm. Originally found on the likes of Kim Kardashian, this trend is now among the masses. Biker shorts have been styled with belted blazers, button-down tops, linen blouses, and everything in-between. They are versatile and the next big thing.

The neck and hair scarf trend was big in Spring and Summer 2018, but now designers are taking the trend to the next level. Many a runway could be seen with dresses, tops, and skirts all fashioned from the typical neck scarf material. The silky sheen and mix of patterns is absolute perfection as clothing items and as spring-wear.

A common theme in a multitude of runway shows was a play on professional wear. Business chic ran rampant in the forms of collared shirts styled under funky dresses, blazers layered over street fashion dresses, and briefcases carried alongside hippie chick looks.

Move over leopard print, there’s a new animal print in town: Zebra. From a night-on-the-town to an evening gala, zebra print is slowly catching up to its trendier counterpart. What’s the trick to styling this print? Balancing it out with simpler, solid color pieces and accessories.

The crochet trend has been sitting in the backseat for a while now, but this year’s runway shows have it styled in exciting new ways. The material is classier than ever in curve-hugging dresses, magical tops, and casual throw-overs; all perfect for the upcoming warmer weather.

Just like the crochet trend, tortoise shell accessories have been enjoying being in the background. However, this year, fashion week street style was overflowing with brooches, earrings, necklaces, and rings covered with the pattern. While tortoise shell accessories are not hard to find in a local boutique, they can instantly make any look more elegant and fashion-forward.
