Love at First Listen: FEEL GOOD PLAYLIST

Woohoo gals and guys!! I’ve been feeling good after a up-and-down March month, and want y’all to feel that way too. Maybe it’s the warmer weather (if it’s snowing where you live, I’m sorry :/), maybe it’s the fact that the school year is winding to an end, or maybe it’s the fun time I’ve been having with friends and family lately. Whatever it is, my music taste has started to reflect my happy and loving mood, so today I’m sharing my Feel Good playlist with you all! My Winter playlist was FULL of more melancholy, slower songs, so this post is definitely a bit more uplifting in its music ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope that you’ll listen to these songs and remixes, and it’ll up your mood or make you even happier than before, so here we go, diving deep into the world of funky and fun music!
“Electric Love” by BORNS (Oliver Remix)

Favorite Lyrics: Candy, she’s sweet like candy in my veins

My most favorite feel-good song of all time, “Electric Love” captures the perfect party mood without sounding to similar the oh-so-familiar pop songs on the radio. It starts off more than perfect with a funky beat, then BORNS voice is just the icing on top. I love how deliciously retro this song is, and I don’t know if I’m ever gonna be able to go to a party again without playing this song at least twice! If you’re looking for a song that you can spin around in happy circles with your arms spread out, this one is for you.

“Superstar” by Broods

Favorite Lyrics: I’ve been waiting for our words to be in line / So I can let you know that baby, you’re the rest of my life

I discovered this song after it was recommended to me on Spotify, and OMG it was love at first listen! The beginning of “Superstar” is everything I want in music, soft and slow with breathy singing and a beat that can be danced to. This song reminds me of a warm summer day laying in the grass with my eyes closed so that the sun beats down on them with the people I love around me. “Superstar” really does get me in my feels!

“Whatever It Takes” by Imagine Dragons

Favorite Lyrics: I’m an apostrophe / I’m just a symbol to remind you that there’s more to see

If you listen to the radio, you’ve most definitely heard this lyrical masterpiece of a song by Imagine Dragons. “Whatever It Takes” is hands down my favorite song from them ever because of its motivating and action movie like words and beats. The singer starts out sing-talking fast in the beginning then slows a bit at the chorus to let the full effect wash over you. Also, the beat is perfect for sporadic and fun dancing, which is what I’m all about ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you’re looking for a pump-up song for the gym or just for the day ahead, add this song to your playlist!

“Lose It” by Oh Wonder

Favorite Lyrics: Make a spark, break the dark / Find a light with me / Who we are chasing stars / Won’t you dance with me?

Although “Lose It” is noticeably slower paced than the other songs on my Feel Good playlist, it still makes your face light up into a slight smile while listening. I love the soft tones of Oh Wonder’s voices, and the way they beautifully blend to create a light beat that’s sweet on the ears. Oh Wonder has been a fav of mine for awhile, and so has this song (it’s been out for 2 years!), and I’m excited to finally be sharing it with you. Definitely listen to this song when you’re chilling out or winding down for the evening!

“Sit Next to Me” by Foster the People

Favorite Lyrics: Last time I saw you said “What’s up?” / And pushed right through / Then I tried to catch you / But we’re always on the move

Right away this song pulled me into another world. The beat makes me feel fulfilled and like I’m having the night of my life where I’m unbeatable (even if I’m listening to it at noon while doing homework!). And the lyrics are bittersweet, but go with the feel of the song. “Sit Next to Me” is such a bop, and I can’t wait to jam out to it this summer when I am having the night of my life!

“Fade Into You” cover by Tezza

Tezza is my favorite Instagrammer (read more about her amazing creativity in my Spring Favorites), and when I found out she could sing I already knew it was going to be good. Boy, was I right! Tezza’s captivating voice in her YouTube cover of “Fade Into You” made me want to listen to the song on repeat for hours. It’s a high pitch yet lulling sound that is the best for slowing down after an eventful night!

“Wonderland” by Jasmine Thompson

Favorite Lyrics: Hey, loving you is insane / Oh, but maybe loving me is the same

“Wonderland” is insanely good, and the music pops off the screen (is that a thing??) within the first second. The way Jasmine Thompson ahs throughout the beginning reminds me of the part of a movie where you find out everything is going to turn out okay, which is definitely super feel-good! When I first heard this song, I though there were no lyrics since she doesn’t start singing until about a minute in. And omg is Jasmine Thompson’s voice amazing. Out of all the songs on this list, “Wonderland” is a must listen!

“Blood on the Mattress” by Korey Dane ft. Zella Day

Favorite Lyrics: All the light, it shines for you

Another slow song that reminds me of a sweet summer day is “Blood on the Mattress.” This song makes me feel warm inside, and no doubt would make you feel the same. I fell in love with Zella’s voice after hearing her song “Sweet Hunnie Pie,” and she doesn’t let anyone down with this beautiful collab with Korey Dane. The way they use each other’s voices to build up the other is incredible and unique to the The music industry! If you want a slow song that isn’t sad, but warm and fuzzy, listen to “Blood on the Mattress”!

There’s my top 8 Feel Good songs for you to add to your playlists! I hope I inspired some new music tastes and that these songs uplift ya! I’m always looking for new songs to listen to myself, so leave a comment below with a few of your favorite feel-good songs. Feel free to drop any questions or blog post ideas in the comments as well. Thanks so much for reading, friends!!
