I love crazy outfit combos and editorial fashion so much that I sometimes forget that more reasonable looks are needed for everyday life. It’s easy to get caught up in creating outside-of-the-box and unique outfits, and I’ve definitely fallen into that trap. My main mission with that is to, of course, inspire and motivate you all to step out of your style comfort zone, but it’s also important to cater to your comfort zone. That’s why today, I’m bringing you a smart casual look, that when tailored to your work/school dress code and style, is super reasonable AND super fashionable!
This post is a collab with the one and only, Mia, from the Beautiful, Inspiring, Creative… Life blog! I’ve been following her for awhile now, and her outfits are bomb as heck and her curly hair is to die for. Just by reading her blog posts you can tell she puts lots of thought into them, and they’re all super entertaining (her comedy is true gold!) and helpful, which can be hard to nail in the blogging world! After you’re finished reading my post, make sure to head over to Mia’s blog post to get even more inspiration for a smart casual outfit π Now onto the look…
After pulling these pink seersucker pants out of my mom’s closet, I knew I had to include them in this look! They’re comfy, but not too casual in terms of a pant, so you could wear them to work or school easily. To keep with the vibrancy of spring colors, I paired the pants with a light blue suede jacket that takes the look from normal to stylish, then balanced out the colors with a white top (I know that crop tops aren’t allowed in most school/work dress codes, so pop on a white tee instead when creating a similar outfit!). I finished the look with my gold sandals, some stand-out earrings, and my hair tied back with a floral scrunchie, ready to take on the day!
You can create a similar look by finding a pair of comfy patterned pants, a colored jacket of your choice, and of course, a white tee. Feel free to change it even more to fit your dress code and style π
Ok, lemme pause your scrolling real quick to talk about this GORGEOUS customized bracelet from Les Georgettes! It’s so classy and timeless, and I’d be lying if I told you it hasn’t been on my wrist for the past week (it’s on my wrist as I’m writing this)! Why am I wearing it so much? It’s a 3-in-1 with a reversible leather, I chose the colors fuchsia and ice blue, and if you’re not feeling the leather you can simply take it out for the day! It goes with anything and everything, and with so many designs to choose from, you can’t go wrong.
Suede Jacket (similar, mine’s thrifted) // White Tee // Seersucker Pants (similar) // Gold Sandals (similar) // Floral Scrunchie
There’s my spring smart-casual outfit for ya! I hope you all enjoyed and gathered inspiration and motivation for next time you need a smart-casual look. Obviously, we all have different styles from each other, so just like every other blog post the point of this is for you to take the look and change it to fit your personal style! I’m just setting the foundation π Also, don’t forget to head over to Mia’s post to get even more inspiration for a smart-casual look, and thanks so much for reading, friends!
