30 Day Styling Challenge: Week 4 + 7 Outfit Ideas

YOU GUYS!!  The 30 Day Styling Challenge has to be one of my favorite things I have done on this blog so far.   If you’ve missed my first 3 posts on this, here is a little run-down of what the challenge is: For all of January, I am styling outfits with stand-out pieces, outfits with overloads of accessories, outfits using only one color, and more; all to help me work towards the cool and unique wardrobe I’m looking for.

I’ve expanded my outfit choices by so much these past 4 weeks, and now it is super natural for me to open my closet and search for pieces to put together that are outside of the box (which was the entire goal of this challenge in the first place).  The looks I am creating are more ‘Olivia’ than ever, and I’m looking in the mirror and getting more satisfied by the day with my ootds.  Like I said in my last post, it’s an incredible feeling, and I want you all to feel it too!

After you read this post, I challenge you to go to your closet and create an outfit that is so YOU, but you’ve been scared to try, or pull out all your fav clothing items and accessories and make an entire outfit out of them! Try mixing patterns, adding a bright pop of color, going monochrome for a day, or go all out with layering. It can definitely be hard to go out of your comfort zone, especially when it comes to something so public like your outfit, but I encourage all of you to try it like I have. And trust me, you’ll LOVE IT!!

On Friday, I decided to rock a pair of jeans that I had DIY painted on.  I wanted them to stand out, so wore a plain fuchsia sweater and a gold necklace.  Whenever you DIY a piece of clothing, let that take center stage and pair solids or basics with it to give the piece it’s shining moment!

Saturday was a photo shoot day with a few of my friends, and we were all supposed to be dressed in primary colors (be on the look out for my January Moments post to see the photos!!).  Of course, I had to be in something red, and threw on my J. Crew blue sweater to keep the primary theme going.  I challenge you all to create an outfit solely out of primary colors!

I went for more laid back vibes on Sunday, so you could’ve caught me in my flowy pants from Zara and cropped sweater.  Normally, I would’ve paired a plain colored top with these pants, but since this challenge is all about pushing myself, I decided to go for something not solid.  Next time you’re wearing an pants that you usually wear a plain top with, try a patterned one instead!

All stripes was the theme of Monday’s look!  After searching for a rainbow-striped shirt for forever, I finally found one at Forever 21 and knew I needed to wear it ASAP.  Along with my witch-y TJ Maxx boots, I felt very stylish and a bit edgy.  Try all stripes the next day you don’t have anything to wear 🙂

Flannels are one of my least favorite clothing pieces, so I decided why not challenge myself to create a look I love from something I don’t love.  The outfit above was the end product, and even though it’s not a fav, I like it better than anything else I’ve worn with flannels.  It’s the cut-outs in the shoulders of my top that make this look worthwhile.

This above #ootd will always be a favorite of mine because of the ease in the combination between the feminine and edgy elements.  Ugh, there’s just something about it I can’t get over!  The silver accessories also had a bit of pizazz to the look as well.  Try combining a feminine and edgy piece for yourself if it’s not something you would do on the daily.

Ok, Thursday’s look was one of the most “glam and girly” ones I’ve put together throughout this whole challenge, and I actually love it!  The fur coat is super on trend, and the studded top and raw edge on the denim add the bit of edge I need for all my outfits.  Pair your own denim skirt with a fur jacket next time you have a girl’s night out.

Another outfit-filled 30 Day Styling Challenge round-up done!  I hope you all enjoyed this post, and got a healthy dose of style tips and inspiration.  Leave a comment below on which outfit was your fav, and something I should try for next week’s outfits.  Feel free to ask any questions while you’re down there.  Thanks for reading!!

💜Love, Olivia
