30 Day Styling Challenge Intro + The First 4 Outfits

This January I am doing a 30 Day Styling Challenge where I have to style a different outfit everyday for the entire month. I know, I know; you’re probably thinking, “Olivia, this isn’t going to be that hard for you. After all, you pretty much do that anyways.” Well, hear me out. In 2017, I started to create a unique style around clothing I love, I went into stores with the intent of coming out with something totally unique and outside of what most people would consider inside of their comfort zones. This year, I want to continue to build that style, but get a little bit more out of the box with it, and that’s where this 30 Day Challenge comes in.

For the next few weeks, I am going to style outfits with stand-out pieces, outfits with overloads of accessories, outfits using only one color, and more; all to help me work towards the cool and unique wardrobe I’m looking for. These ootds won’t be your normal, everyday looks, but something a little more extra than that. Cheers to the next 26 days, and a month filled with funky outfits.

Here are the first 4 outfits, and for the rest of January I will be posting my outfits of the week on Thursdays.

January 1

2017-12-21 09.37.31 1.jpg

Gold Stipple Top (similar) // Corset Belt (similar)// Dark Jeans // OTK Boots

Starting off this challenge with an outfit that has a bit more edge than I would normally put into an outfit, but honestly, I’m totally diggin’ it!

January 2

Gray Blazer (similar, mine was thrifted)// Black Embroidered Mesh Top (similar) // Light Denim Mules (ON SALE!!)

Who knew ya girl would try out a work-wear outfit?! I’m loving the way the mesh top adds a hint of style to the otherwise normal blazer and black work pants. If you try out this outfit, put your own twist on it to make it the perfect Girls Night Out look!

January 3

Chunky Knit Sweater (similar because this one was on sale and no longer on the website) // Plaid Pants (similar)

This is the first real mix-of-prints I’ve ever worn, and I’m loving it! Plaid pants are everywhere these days, and I challenge you all to grab your own and style an over-sized sweater or a top with a different print along with the pants.

January 4

Garnet Top (similar and ON SALE!!) // Beige Jacket (similar and ON SALE!!) // Light Wash Denim

For me, styling light wash denim jeans is very hard. That’s why today I put myself to the test! I paired them with a plain garnet peplum top and threw on my grandma’s beige fur-lined jacket, but not before taking out the shoulder pads. The outfit still looked plain, so I added this black tiered necklace, and viola!

So far, this styling challenge is going well! I’ve already tried styles and looks that I might not have before, and I hope this post inspires you to take on your kind of styling challenge. Use this new month to expand your own horizons in the fashion world, and let me know about it in the comments! Feel free to leave any questions and/or blog post ideas you may have as well in the comments. Thanks for reading everyone!
