During December, holiday parties and other events are not hard to come by, and they’re always tons of fun to go to. Yet, choosing an outfit for these occasions can be such a hassle and sometimes even stressful. To help you all out, I’ve put together two generic holiday looks that can be recreated with similar pieces in your own closet or can be found at most stores.
The first outfit is centered around a gorgeous velvet jumpsuit I picked up from TJ Maxx for $20. Jumpsuits are growing in popularity and are beginning to appear more and more at more formal events. The one I have is the perfect Christmas red, and has a high neck with a low back and the trendy wide-leg cut. Since it’s chilly this time of year, I layered a plain black turtleneck underneath the jumpsuit and added some pizzazz with my thrifted black belt. For shoes, I went with classy black heels to elevate (literally and figuratively) the entire look. As I mentioned in my Holiday Gift Guide, metallic and velvet jumpsuits are the way to go, so when recreating this outfit go for those types. Also, try to find a jumpsuit with a special something that will make it stand out (mine didn’t have this so I added a belt, which you can do as well!).

Most jumpsuits can be wrapped around and worn as pants as well!

The second look is a little more traditional, and the main piece is a bright red ruffle dress that is perfect for dancing in! As I mentioned before, this is a cold season, so bare legs aren’t going to cut it, especially if some of the party is outside. To solve that, I threw on a pair of see-through black tights and by black booties for extra foot warmth. Since the dress is plain besides the gorgeous ruffles at the bottom and on the sleeves, I layered three silver necklaces and wore my beloved silver rings and earrings to create a more fashion-forward look. When recreating this outfit, find a holiday colored dress with movement, add tights and your own jewelry and footwear to make the outfit your own!

And there ya have it, folks, my Holiday Party Outfit Ideas 2017! These outfits are fairly simple to recreate and put your own twist on, so you can look super snazzy as well. I hope you all enjoyed this post and gained inspiration for your own party look this season (or any other chillier season!). Let me know in the comments which outfit was your favorite, and feel free to leave any other questions or blog post ideas you may have while you’re down there. Thanks for reading and happy Holidays!
💜Love, Olivia
