October has gone, and with Halloween right at the end, holiday season has officially started! Before holiday posts start appearing on my blog left and right, I wanted to share with you all my October Favorites. You all gave me such a great response on my last favorites post, and I’m hoping this one will also give you items to add to your shopping list and maybe even your Christmas list! In this post is everything from accessories to clothing items to places, so let’s get into it.
*Let me know in the comments if there are any holiday posts you would like to see from me!
EMBROIDERED CAMO JACKET
I raved about this embroidered camo jacket on my Instagram because I got it on sale for $15 from Francesca’s! It’s lightweight and the perfect print for fall. The reddish-pink flowers along the sleeve add a fun unexpected touch. I’ve worn this jacket to a corn maze and the fair, and felt super stylish doing so.
MY RED NOTEBOOK
One of my 17 Goals for 2017, was to journal at least once a week. If you’ve read my goal check-ups, you’ll know that this was a major failure for the whole year until about 3 weeks ago! I have been using this red notebook to write down my weekly going-ons and do a bit of writing. The pages are so smooth, and my pens just glide across them. Check out my Week In the Life: Homecoming for a peek into what I write in this journal.
SQUARE AND HOOP EARRINGS
I’ve been loving to mix-and-match my earrings lately, and my favorite combo has to be my silver square earring and hoop earring. They add edge to any look, and go great with the silver rings I talk about later in this post. People have given me weird looks, but I think it looks cool, and really that’s all that matters when it comes to fashion. 🙂
Ahh, the reason for the fall season: the fair. The fair is the best annual event that I know of, and I love going! The rides, lights, pig races, animals, and food are what makes it fantastic. My favorite part is riding on the Ferris wheel at night, and seeing the whole scene lit up before you. Also, vinegar-drenched fries are one of finest foods around, and they’re the best at the fair. If you’ve never been to a fair or fair-like festival, definitely put it on your bucket list!
For the longest time, I had been eyeing the Fenty Puma shoe collection, so when I spotted these look-a-likes at Forever 21, I knew they were a must get. They’re velvet, soft, and have a platform bottom! I love styling them with denim skirts and my black ripped jeans. Plus, they make me taller! 🙂
Accessories that have been making almost a daily appearance on my hands, are my silver rings. The same five always adorn my fingers, and they all stand out in their own special way. There is one with moon and stars, a big cube one with my initials, a studded band, an intertwining ovals one, and my personal favorite: a ring with a crystal platform and a garnet rock in the center. I love wearing them with my square and hoop earrings that were mentioned above!
BRONZE EYE SHADOW PALETTE
October is the time of transition from summer pink eye shadow to bronze tones. Wearing a bronze eye look with a fall-colored outfit is the ultimate pairing! This eye shadow palette from Maybelline has the perfect shades for autumn, and I find myself reaching for it often for blog post shoots. I love the shimmer shades in this palette, especially the ones with an orange-y tone. Check out my Bronze Eye Tutorial for a way to wear your bronze shadows!
Just like my silver rings, belts have been a constant accessory in my daily wardrobe. All (except one) of the belts I own came from thrift stores, and I truly believe thrifting is the best place to look for unique belts. My favorite one is the snake belt I featured in my Red Lookbook, but I love my thin brown one, my gold polka-dotted red one, my wide black belt, and all the rest!
That concludes my October Favorites! I hope you all enjoyed this post, and got ideas for products you may want to buy in the future. It’s nice being able to share with you all things I love, so drop a comment below about something you have been heart-eyeing over lately. Also, don’t forget to let me know of any holiday blog post ideas you would like to see on Absolutely Olivia. Thanks for reading!
