I did a playlist post this past summer, and you all seemed to love it, so here I am with another one! Music is a part of my daily life, and is the perfect thing to represent any mood you may be feeling. I mean, what’s better than a song that captures your exact feelings in that moment?? I love almost any type of good music, but as everyone else does, I too have my favorites. Today, I am going to be sharing 7 songs I have been jamming out to constantly for the past few weeks. They were all a Love at First Listen for Me. 😉
If you want to hear these songs all in one place, feel free to check out my Spotify, @absolutelyolivia.
“MY BOY” BY BILLIE EILISH
Favorite Lyrics: My boy loves his friends like I love my split ends and by that I/mean/he cuts em off
This had to be the first song I talked about in this post, as it is the best song that has ever graced my ears. Billie’s half-talking, gravelly way of singing fits perfectly with the genius lyrics, and the slow jazzy hums at the beginning make the song’s mood apparent from the start. I’ve sang and listened to this song more times than you can imagine!

“OCEANS (WHERE FEET MAY FAIL)” BY CALEB AND KELSEY
Favorite Lyrics: When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace/For I am Yours and You are mine
If I’ve had a bad day and/or need a quick break from something stressful, the Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) cover by Caleb and Kelsey is my go-to song. Their voices mesh together and provides the best calm. It’s always great to incorporate a bit of Jesus throughout your day too.

“THE MOMENTS I’M MISSING” BY NINA NESBITT ft. GOODY GRACE
Favorite Lyrics: These are the moments I never took in when/I was just standing there wishing/I could grow up and my life would be different
Yes, this song is fun to listen to, but it’s a good song to get you thinking too. Nina Nesbitt goes through her life, listing the moments she’s missing (hence the title), and it makes you think about loving the moment you’re in right now and making yourself be more present. This song definitely made me more aware of the appreciation you should have for where you are in life.

“GROUPIE LOVE” BY LANA DEL RAY
Favorite Lyrics: Taking our dreams, turning them to things/It’s like magic, babe, isn’t life wonderful?
The way Lana sings is like a lull, and it’s so eerie and beautiful. “Groupie Love” is one of my all-time favorites from her for the lyrics and chorus. Her Old Hollywood vibe is always on point, and this song is no exception.

“SPLIT STONES” BY MAGGIE ROGERS
Favorite Lyrics: If you could feel everything you’ve ever caused
Maggie’s songs always remind of the mountains in the summer, and her new song, “Split Stones” is FANTASTIC!!! It stays at the same tempo for a while, then speeds up into the chorus. The instrumentals in the back blend well, and the music video is bomb. 10 out of 10, I highly recommend!

“idontwannabeyouanymore” BY BILLIE EILISH
Favorite Lyrics: If “I love you” was a promise/would you break it/if you’re honest
“idontwannebeyouanymore” begins with a similar jazzy humming as “My Boy,” but is a lot slower and slightly darker. It’s one of those songs you listen to when you’re non-content and need some time to contemplate life. Also, it’s a great song to sway to 😉

“YOUNGER NOW” BY MILEY CYRUS
Favorite Lyrics: Even though it’s not who I am/I’m not afraid of who I used to be
I truly believe Miley Cyrus is in her prime, and “Younger Now” totally proves that. She sings about how “change is something you can count on,” and “no one stays the same,” and talks about how she feels younger now that she’s evolved into the person she is today. I love the message, and the beat of the song is peppy and fun to dance to (as she proves at the end of her music video for it). Also, for all my fashion fans, the outfits in the “Younger Now” video are bomb!

That’s it for my Fall Playlist, but I would love to hear about what you all are listetning to! In the comments, share what music and artists YOU have been loving lately. I’m on a never-ending quest to find new jams, so any genre is appreciated! I’m excited to see what you all dance to in your bedroom. Thanks for reading and supporting!
