Lookbook: In the RED

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I consider (fire engine) red to be my power color. I have loved this color for the past couple of years for its vibrancy and how easily it makes you stand out in a crowd. Usually, I would search stores relentlessly for any item in red, but could never find anything besides the occasional graphic tee.  Now, red is all the rage for this upcoming fall season (I have a Fall trends post in the works!), and in every shop I’ve gone to lately, the options in this color have been endless! So today, I’m sharing a lookbook centered around my power color; the wonderful Red.

LOOK 1: red + yellow

As you know if you follow my Instagram, denim is my #1 clothing obsession, so finding this jacket was god-sent.  I walked upstairs into the Chicago Forever 21, and I swear I spotted this bright red denim jacket from a mile away.  There was no question about it, I hands down had to buy it!  After all, it did combine 2 of my favorite things 🙂  A few weeks later, I picked up this yellow corduroy skirt and began to pair it with a tee that’s a different shade of yellow.  Then, one day I happened to throw on the red jacket with it in an attempt to channel my inner Billie Eilish, and viola this outfit was born!

LOOK 2: red + pink

Red and pink is hands-down my favorite color combination of the moment (and not to mention a commonly used combo for recent runway shows).  The sweetheart vibe it gives off is great, but when paired with the right accessories that vibe easily transfers over into something a bit more edgy.  In the past, people strayed away from this because the colors directly correlate with those of Valentine’s Day, but with red’s recent takeover, it’s safe to say we’ll see these magnificent colors worn together more often.

LOOK 3: red + embroidery

I bought this red top a while ago, and had never worn it because I had no idea how to style it, but when I was looking for something to make these embroidered jeans even better than they are, I found that this flowing tank was perfect.  I love how this outfit turned out, and it looks and makes me feel very put together!  I added some fun, star earrings to finish this outfit off, and wow, did I feel so stylish in this!

That last outfit wraps up all my main looks for this post, but here are a few more ways I wear the color red, to give you some more inspo for how to rock looks that showcase the color:

This top was a part of my July 4th Lookbook, and is one that I have worn whenever I want to feel comfy, but still look cute.

I hope you gained some inspo on how to wear the color red this upcoming fall season.  I can’t wait to gain more pieces in this color, and style differently the pieces I already have. There’s just so many options!  Leave a comment down below, telling me your favorite way to wear this color, and feel free to drop any questions or blog post ideas down there as well.  Thanks for reading and for all the support!

💜Love, Olivia
