How to Mix-and-Match A Set

Two-piece skirt sets are the perfect thing for summer and are becoming increasingly popular, especially ones in bright colorful prints.  Yet no matter how cute they are, it can get boring and repetitive to wear the same 2 pieces together whenever you go out.  That’s where mixing and matching comes in!  In this post, I am going to show you a few ways I wear the pieces in my set, and give some tips for switching up your own sets in your wardrobe!

My Lilly Pulitzer set (shown below) is fine and dandy all by itself, but there are ways to spice it up!  For both of the pairings I am about to show you, I tried to keep the other pieces muted, so that the pattern and colors of the skirt set were the main focus throughout.

The first outfit I  using the skirt from the set and a simple tank.  The key for this look was finding a tank top that went with the print and colors of the skirt and since the design is pretty busy, I decided on a fuchsia tank with a ruffle down the middle and tucked it in to the bottoms.

For the next outfit I paired the top of the set with a plain white skirt, which would look perfect for photos on the beach or an outside dinner/lunch party.  The outfit is very bright and fun with a beachy vibe.

I was even able to create an outfit from the fuchsia tank and white skirt that I paired with the set pieces!

Overall, I beginning to think skirts sets are one of the smartest pieces in fashion made because the possibilities are endless.  Although I only showed a couple in this post, there are tons more mixing and matching I could do!  I hope you enjoyed this post and feel free to comment any other tips and tricks you might have about wearing sets!
