Sister Style: Crushin’ It in Velvet

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Today, I am bringing you a new Sister Style post.  Although some places have been seeing snow lately, spring is finally upon us!  Blooming flowers give off such a cheery vibe during this season and were the perfect setting for this shoot with my sissy, Camille.  For me, now is the time to transition into gorgeous pastels, flowy blouses, and flirty dresses and skirts.

For these looks, we are both wearing pastel pink crushed velvet (mine; a little more obviously crushed than hers).  Velvet has been trendy for the past year or so, but I have never been able to get my hands on an item of that material.  I finally found this wonderful off-the-shoulder top at Marshall’s, from the brand One Clothing, and it was of the exact color and softness I had dreamed of! I wore black ripped jeans with frayed hems to contrast the feminine feel  of the top and I created subtle gold accents with my slip-on sandals from J. Crew, bobby pins, and hoop earrings.  My sister got her dress a few days later and paired it with a tiered necklace and black, lace-up flats.

  1. YOU GUYS LOOK SO CUTE! I love the top too, off-the-shoulder is really in right now! I also love the color of the jeans! Hope to see more posts like this soon!

  2. Hey Olivia!!
Loved this post!! Your posts are so much fun to look at, with all the fun pictures. I love how YOU are always the model, and you’re not afraid to be yourself on the internet.

I have a little question for you,.. What kind of camera do you use? I am interested in a camera for my blog, and the pictures you take seem very good quality, without being super advanced in complicated equipment that I won’t understand. (Hope that makes scense XD)

    • Hey Abby!
Oh wow, thank you so much for the kind words! It really means a lot💜
This is going to sound crazy, but I actually take every single one of my photos on my phone! (I have a Samsung Galaxy s7 and any iPhone is also great for phone pictures) I do make sure I am outside at the right time of day for the best lighting or shooting my non-outfit pictures where there is lots of natural lighting in my room. I use the editing app VSCO for all my pics and I highly recommend it.
I am searching for a good camera that is easy to work with though because my phone storage is leaving me fast😂 So I will definitely let you know if I find the perfect camera and if you find one let me know!
Sorry, this might not of helped, but I hope it did!💗
