As most of you know, New York Fashion Week was this past week. Reading and seeing all the articles and pictures of the runway shows is always a highlight of my day. Also, NYFW is one of the biggest times of the year for all the street style stars to come together in one place. These are the people who know what’s what when it comes to trends and brands.
Many fashion fanatics, myself included, will look to the street style for inspiration and some foresight for what will be “in” for the coming seasons. While scrolling through countless stylish-beyond-my-dreams photographs I made sure to take notice of repeated clothing styles, colors, and patterns so I would have a basis for items to search for this spring. Today, I am going to be sharing with you 3 of my favorite categories of trends for what I decided are must-haves now and may be in the future!
BRIGHT HUES (REDS AND PINKS)*
Bright hues, especially of reds and pinks were everywhere. I love how they add an extreme pop of color when paired with solid dark colors or denim, but can still come together with a different bold hue to create an awesome, vibrant outfit.
SHEER BLACK TIGHTS*
Lately, I have been seeing more and more of these tights paired with over sized jackets and t-shirts, dresses, shorts, and skirts. Some had patterns on them, like the polka dot ones above, while others just added a touch of edginess to a chic, otherwise elegant fur coat. They were very big for street-style looks during NYFW, which just solidifies the fact that sheer tights are on the rise. Also, if you love the fishnet look, but want something classier; these tights are for you!
Pairing different shades of blue together was another concept I saw a lot of. This generated a calm, cool, and collected vibe around the person who was wearing the pieces. Whether it was an all blue blazer and pants or a casual denim outfit, this trend was on point!
BONUS: OVER SIZED JACKETS*
After looking through the my above categories, I realized there was one more I could add, using some of the photos I already had. Over sized jackets. No matter what the street style star was wearing, this seemed to complete any and every look. The jackets were fur, denim, puffer, and leather. Name a fabric or style, trust me, it was worn! Even once it gets warmer, over sized jackets could still be worn with shorts and dresses. This trend is definitely here to stay.
Thanks for reading and by the way, I just got an Instagram to go along with my blog and I would love it if you would check it out!
